Childbearing Hips: Types, Structures and Variations

Childbearing hips is a word that is used to explain a woman’s pelvic structure. The way this expression “childbearing hips” does not really seem right. A lot of persons uses this expression because to them they believe that any woman that has a childbearing hips will always have a smooth and easy child birth delivery or that the woman posses some special ability when it comes to child delivery.

CHILDBEARING HIPS

The expression “childbearing hips” is an expression that best explains a woman with wider and bigger hips. The size of a woman’s hips or how wider a woman’s hips is depends on the type of pelvic structure the woman has.

TYPES OF PELVIC STRUCTURE

Pelvic structure is what helps to determine the size of a woman’s hips. Every woman’s hip size varies, this is because all the women do not carry one or the same pelvic structure.  In the year 1930 according to research, it was stated that the pelvic structure of a woman is divided into four.

The include gynecoid, android, anthropoid and platypelliod. Recently, another research was carried out and it has been confirmed that the pelvic structure of a woman is not only limited to the four mentioned above but that the are more variation.

Based on the different pelvic structure that was mentioned, this structures affect child bearing differently.

(1) Gynecoid Pelvic Structure

When a person is said to have childbearing hips, then it simply means that the person has a child bearing hips. A gynecoid pelvic structure is that type of pelvic structure that is characterized by wide and shallow hips. The gynecoid pelvic structure is said to be favorable because it makes it possible for the baby to pass through the pelvis.

(2) Android Pelvic Structure

The android pelvic structure is a type of pelvic structure that is characterised by smaller buttocks muscles and pubic arch that is narrow. It is possible for a baby to pass through the pelvis for someone that has this type of pelvic but the delivery process will be long. The android pelvic structure is commonly found in taller women

(3) Anthropoid Pelvic Structure

Anthropoid pelvic structure is a pelvic structure that is common but not as common as gynecoid. The difference between this two pelvic structure is that anthropoid pelvic structure is wider from front to back while the gynecoid pelvic structure is wider from right to left.

A person who has an anthropoid pelvic structure carries more weight on the abdomen and buttocks. The delivery process for anthropoid pelvic structure will not be as smooth as that of gynecoid because it pelvis is less open.

(4) Platypelliod pelvic structure

The platypelliod pelvic structure is just like the android pelvic structure. The difference is that while android pelvic structure is characterised with narrow pubic arch, the platypelliod pelvic structure is characterised with wider pubic arch. A person that has a platypelliod pelvic structure can have a easy child birth when once the baby enters the pelvis.

DOES HAVING CHILDBEARING HIPS ALLOW EASY CHILD DELIVERY

This is one of the most frequent questions that is asked by many women. Having a childbearing hips can cause an easy child delivery but it is wise to know that childbearing hips alone does not guaranty safe and easy delivery that there are some factors that will interrupt it.

FACTORS ASIDE CHILDBEARING HIPS THAT CAN AFFECT EASY CHILD BIRTH PROBLEM

Although having a childbearing hips to some extent can guaranty a smooth and easy child delivery but there are factors that affect it and this factors will help to determine if the birth process will be an easy one irrespective of whether the woman has a childbearing hips or not. This factors include:

(1) The baby’s size of the head and body

One of the factors that affect child delivery is the size of the head and body of the baby. If the baby’s head and body size is large, the woman will be advised to go for cesarean delivery but if the head and body size of the baby is small,  it will be possible for the woman to give birth through vaginal delivery even though she does not have a childbearing hips.

(2) The mother’s health

Another factor that can affect easy child birth is the mother’s health. Having a childbearing hips makes it possible to birth through the vagina but this will not be possible if the mother’s health is not stable because giving birth through the vagina requires strength and if her health is not okay, she will be advised to go for cesarean delivery.

 (3) The baby’s position

The position of the baby is another factor that can affect easy child birth. If the baby’s position is head down, it will be easy for the woman to have a safe delivery but if the baby is in a breech position which is bottom down it will cause the woman to have a hard lady even though she has a childbearing hips.

SUMMARY

People  who do not have childbearing hips should not worry themselves but the should understand that although having a childbearing hips has it own advantage but that it alone does not guaranty safe and easy child delivery.

There are some factors that hinder an easy child birth even though the person has a childbearing hips. Without these factors that affect child birth apart from childbearing hips, the different pelvic structure of a woman helps to determine if the lady will go through vaginal delivery which is the normal delivery or the lady will go through a cesarean delivery.
